For Milestone Four, our team submitted part of our design to our mentors for feedback. This milestone serves as an important gateway to either finalizing our design or refining/correcting any design parameters that have been identified by our mentors as potentially problematic.

Before this milestone, my teammate and I worked outside of our design studio to design our finalized model based on previous milestones.

During this milestone, we spoke with our TAs and IAIs to evaluate our finalized model design. They were looking for specific requirements such as:

• Container fits inside the assigned footprint
• Surgical tools fit securely inside the container
• Container facilitates sterilization
• Design is creative with interesting features and/or connections
• Assembly model is complete and aesthetic, properly grounded and has no interference or errors.

The 3D print time that they were look for are:

• All components on the bed when evaluating this
• Discuss if components need any support for 3D printing (i.e., for any overhanging features). If so, TA’s will assist the sub-team in adding support.
• Total print time of ALL components does not exceed 2 hours

Our team passed this evaluation and were approved for 3D printing.
