For Milestone Three, our team began with configuring design sub-components. Working in our sub-teams, we were required to: 1) configure design details of the sterilization container through creating and evaluating solid models in Inventor (Modelling Sub-Team), and 2) plan how each of the program tasks will be executed, identifying the inputs, processes, and outputs (Computation Sub-Team).

As I am part of the modeling team I created a preliminary solid model of my proposed sterilization container design in Autodesk Inventor.

After creating my own preliminary design, my teammate and I compared our design to a datum sterilization container. Creating a scoreboard below.

We then reflected on the scores/ results and reflected on some improvements we can incorporate. Which were :

• Sterilization needs to be improved, in terms of a drainage system and steam flowing through the container. Both designs lack a drainage system for the steam to escape once entered.
• Solution: For future refinements we can add holes at the bottom of the container, to drain the steam, and perhaps add a tray to collect the steam water under the holes.
